Universal Education Programmes

InfoBuzz have been providing drug & alcohol education to secondary schools throughout Gloucestershire for over 10 years. Working closely with the County’s schools, local health and education bodies, we provide up to up to date and relevant sessions around all aspects of substance use and misuse. Sessions are designed with regard to age, ability, culture, ethnicity and gender.

All InfoBuzz staff who facilitate sessions in schools and colleges are experienced and trained youth workers with accredited knowledge of substances. Many of our staff have also completed the CPD program and are skilled at producing lesson plans that meet the needs of young people, reflect both current local and national drug strategies as well as being developed to support the schools’ curriculum.

All our sessions are flexible which means that they can be adapted to suit a variety of age groups and locations. Sessions can be run in small or large classes within mainstream schools and colleges, pupil referral services, or special school settings.

InfoBuzz sessions are designed to be interactive with clear achievable outcomes that are made aware to both pupils and supporting staff. Most of our sessions are evaluated by pupils and staff.

Targeted Support Programmes

The InfoBuzz team has a particular interest in, and experience in working with, vulnerable and disengaged young people who may need additional support.

All of the InfoBuzz team subscribe to a child-centred way of working and are skilled in building a quality of relationship with challenging young people that is both appropriate and encouraging.

The team is creative and innovative and have an established track record in designing methods of working specifically tailored to the needs of different groups of young people.(All InfoBuzz staff hold enhanced CRB clearance and have attended safeguarding training.)

InfoBuzz can offer a variety of interventions for vulnerable young people, designed to meet identified needs. Individual support; accredited personal development courses; bespoke project work with small groups to work with specific issues; intensive mentoring; and single awareness sessions are all potential ways to address the emotional and social factors which create an obstacle to learning and development.

The quality of relationship built through the courses, with InfoBuzz staff, lead to disclosures of further problems and increases the young people’s willingness to engage so that we are in a good position to refer them to the services they need to help them thrive. Young people (consulted by us) have stated that they do want easier access to further opportunities to improve their chances and choices.
