Volunteering at Infobuzz

Posted by Lucy Axon on 17 November 2017

"I worked for Infobuzz as a volunteer in 2016 and having taken a break for a while, I returned in July this year. I volunteer as an administrator and love the variety of things I am asked to do.

"I have a particular love of spreadsheets – sad I know!!! I am very much involved in recording data from referrals and client evaluations, which are used for writing reports to funders and for general monitoring of project success.  Collecting data is incredibly important for the charity as it enables us to check we are meeting the strict criteria set out by our funders so our projects can continue to be funded and grow.

"I am a single mum with five children ranging from age six up to 18. My eldest has a rare brain syndrome which has caused him to have severe physical and learning disabilities. Whilst predominantly I am his carer and a mum to them all, I wanted to give something back to the community and I get a huge amount of fulfilment from volunteering at Infobuzz. I love leaving my chaotic house with ridiculous amounts of washing and ironing to come and work with some lovely people in a fantastic office environment. I greatly admire the work they all do and love being part of the team."
